No focus on the distance you should have the glasses
I have a 1st green unit that can only be brought into a readable focus if I hold them a foot off of my face. The prism is problem. Lilygo should offer a replacement prism and remove all 1st gen units from retail.
I'm torn here because I want them to revisit this and make it work, but the design here is fundamentally wrong. They placed the prism on backwards, so it doesn't have the appropriate focal length, making it useless. You can disassemble and turn the prism around yourself, which you should do, but you will be left with a tiny portion of the original display and very few pixels... but at least the focal point is ~60 cm away rather than ~2 cm as originally assembled. This needs a new display with a much higher resolution, but with that it would be pretty awesome, I think. Might be a good item to purchase to get the optics needed to make your own device, then repurpose the electronics for a smart watch. This device is not immediate useful in any way without significant hacking and redesign.
I really like it, and will probably buy another. But you need to hold it too far away from you to actually read it. I got some inexpensive plastic lenses that I will try and create a mount for, then should be good
1. Loved the idea of the glass and all the integrated sensors.
2. Some modifications to the V2 of the included code makes it fully usable with the prism kept very close to the eye.
3. The IMU that is AI enabled is very accurate and has Kalman Filter built in for extremely fast automatic calibration.
4. The 3D files are readily available for free and I have made a Google Glass-like head mount and use it daily. Connected to my phone and get all notifications on it with the time.
