My experience has been mixed. I bought 5 of the T-Display-S3 and had issues with 2 of them.
With one ghost "touches" start happening about 1-2 minutes after it is powered. The controller thinks the display is being touched, while it is not.
The other device has a different problem. When powered from a battery, the display sometimes powers up, sometimes not. That's despite pin 15 being set to high.
The same firmware runs perfectly on the other 3 devices, without any external hardware connected, so the problems are likely from the T-Display hardware.
The device does a very good job, but I will have to do more testing to see if it will be reliable in the long term.
I use the T-display-s3 for a variety of automation and sensing projects. The display is helpful for diagnostics and data display.
I use the Esphome development platform for all my esp32 projects.
The only issue I have with this device is the display driver for esphome requires the arduino framework ... this restricts what I can do with the device.
For example, secure MQTT requires the esp-idf framework.
The product is excellent the shipping good, and we will see how this customer service works. I am having a bear of a time to get this thing programmed. i have been all over the WWW and have seen different methods. Right now I have a bricked device so I ordered another which arrived, but still cannot find a way to program it if you can assist it would be great. Respectfully, Kerry
