The T-ETH-Lite ESP32 module was deployed as part of a TCP-based labeling system in a live manufacturing environment. The board's Ethernet interface, based on the RTL8201 PHY, provided sufficient throughput and reliability for LAN communication with NiceLabel automation servers. Static IP configuration was essential for integration, and the ability to switch between DHCP and static modes via firmware was a key advantage. The module successfully handled real-time TCP client operations, with response handling and retry logic proving stable during extended operation. Hardware reliability was tested through scenarios including cable hot-plug, power cycling, and interference from nearby industrial equipment. The board also hosted a lightweight web server for local configuration, using NVS to persist Ethernet and application parameters. However, one of the two purchased modules exhibited erratic link behavior, which indicates potential quality variability. The I/O pins used for triggering actions via relays were responsive, though hardware debounce or isolation is strongly recommended for noisy environments. Overall, T-ETH-Lite demonstrates strong potential as an Ethernet-capable ESP32 platform in industrial scenarios, provided modules are pre-tested for stability.
