Virtually no interest in developing custom firmware for this product. The community seems to have abandoned this model. Factory firmware is extremely limited and clunky to use.
Receiver is nearly deaf, I couldn't receive a single audio signal, couldn't even tune into 3/4th of the frequencies I know because the stock firmware is so bad. No de-bounce on the buttons is awful for navigating the menu.
Most of this is probably fixable with better software, but right now, the units are basically unusable.
I am happy with the product but have two suggestions. 1) change to a battery holder that already has the spring in the holder. 2) The from (black plastic) gets loose and moves around quite a bit after handling.

1. About the spring, we deliver the spring is to adapt the 18650 battery. The default battery holder is for 21700 batteries.
2. The black battery holder moving problem, it would be better if you can help to provide a picture, then we can confirm whether it is a welding problem, or the quality of the battery holder plastic problem.

It is a great concept, but has some quirks that need to be addressed. If left off for a long period of time, it will drain the battery past the safe discharge limit, all the way down to zero volts. One of the units died while working and subsequent efforts to bring it back to life put it into a reboot loop. ESP32 chip had cold solder joints, now fixed, but now the chip gets very hot, making it unsafe to operate.
Great hardware, except the faceplate came off, and I needed to glue it back on. And so far I've had very little success getting it to transmit anything at all. I've tried a few different firmwares. It receives, and everything else seems fine, but my other radio hear can't detect any signal at any range. May be software or hardware, I don't know. It's less documented than its predecessor, so I'm waiting for more support from the other projects using it.
